How does the Endowment work?
The donations that have been made by our wonderful donors are invested into a fund that is managed by a team of financial advisors and overseen by the Endowment's investment committee. The money that is contributed by our donors is then invested in a prudent manner into conservative investment strategies with the goal of continuing to make the Endowment principal investment grow over time.
The investment principal, the original amount that was contributed by our donors, continues to be invested within the funds. As more donors contribute to the Endowment, the principal amount invested continues to grow. As the principal grows, we expect the interest made on these investments to continue to grow, allowing the Endowment to financially contribute more to the benefit of East Catholic without having to leverage the principal investments made by our donors. In other words, a donation that is made to the Endowment will continuously be invested year after year with the goal of the original investment continuously growing with the Endowment.
How does the money from the Endowment benefit East Catholic High School?
We seek to have the investments grow over time with the interest on these investments given to East Catholic for purposes outlined in our Mission Statement. The more donations that are received by the Endowment, the larger the principal investment becomes allowing for the potential for more investment interest to be received to further benefit East Catholic High School.
Does my donation go to benefit anything else?
No. Your donation is ONLY for the benefit of East Catholic High School. As stated in our bylaws, all funds that are raised go directly to benefit the school and no other organization.
Can I potentially receive a tax deduction for my contribution to the Endowment?
YES! As a recognized 501(c)(3) organization the East Eagles Endowment Fund will send you a confirmation email subsequent to your donation, which constitutes an official receipt of your gift.
Does the Endowment allow for matching donations from employers or corporations?
YES! We are permitted to accept matching donations from employers or corporate programs. Please feel free to consult your Human Resource department for more information.
